Mastership, Academy of General Dentistry

There are approximately 140 general dentists in Madison County. Dr. Ingram is one of only three practicing general dentists who has completed the requirements, applied, and been accepted for the status of Master Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD). Dr. Ingram was awarded his Mastership Award in July of 2002 at the national Academy of General Dentistry convention in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Dr. Ingram’s staff and family are very proud of this great professional accomplishment and high honor. The AGD Mastership requires eleven hundred hours of continuing education, although Dr. Ingram has many more than that requirement. The techniques and materials learned on this educational journey greatly enhance our ability to serve our family of appreciative patients.

Dr. Ingram has the distinction of being the ONLY Huntsville area dentist who is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is also a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Ingram is also a member of The American Academy of Implant Dentistry, American College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr. Ingram has served as the President of the Alabama Dental Association.

2002 – Dr. Ingram was awarded the Associate Fellowship from The World Clinical Laser Institute

2002 – to present, Dr. Ingram has helped close to 100 students to enter dental careers by being a host for clinical rotations and on the Dentists Advisory Board to the Calhoun Community College Dental Assisting Program.

2011 – Dr. Ingram completed the AAID (American Academy of Implant Dentistry) Maxi-Course Comprehensive Training Program in Implant Dentistry at the Georgia Health Sciences University College of Dental Medicine and Atlanta Institute for Advanced Education.

2012 – Dr. Ingram was recognized by the Academy of General Dentistry in presenting him the Life, Learn and Service Recognition Award (LLSR). This award is given by the AGD in acknowledgement of the continuing achievements of an AGD Mastership recipient who recognize the need for continuous learning and to stay active both in organized dentistry and his community.

2012 – Dr. Ingram was elected by the American Dental Association House of Delegates to serve on the ADA’s Council on Membership. He is representing all dentists in the 5th Trustee District which includes Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia.

2013 – to present, Dr. Ingram has been a Volunteer on a regular and continuous basis at Huntsville/Madison County’s “Community Free Dental Clinic”, providing free dental care to the areas underserved population.  We work hard to get patients out of pain.

2014 – Dr. Ingram was inducted as a Fellow, American College of Dentists.

2015 – Dr. Ingram was inducted as a Fellow, Pierre Fauchard Academy.

2015 – Dr. Ingram was installed as the President of the Alabama Dental Association.

2016 – Dr. Ingram was awarded as an AA Fellow in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

2016 – Dr. Ingram was honored as a “Most Excellent Fellow” of the Alabama Dental Association.

2019 – Dr. Ingram was awarded the Outstanding DDS Volunteer of the year from the Dental Lifeline Network-Alabama/Alabama Donated Dental Services (DDS).  Dr. Ingram has been a Volunteer for Donated Dental Services since 1998 providing gratis services to patients in need who can’t afford dental care due to disabilities or other circumstances.

2021 – Dr. Ingram was awarded Life Membership in the Alabama Dental Association.

2022 – Dr. Ingram was elected to serve his forth consecutive four-year term to the American Dental Association House of Delegates! He was chosen by his peers as 1 of only 5 delegates to represent Alabama at the ADA House of Delegates.
